Welcome Back

Welcome back to all my wonderful Room 23 Year 3s. It was a great start to Term 2!! Today we started our Financial Literacy program. Students were given a bankbook each. They will earn $5 wages for every day they come to school however they can also earn extra rewards and can also be fined. Students set what things they will get rewards and fines for.
We also started Christian Religious Education today with Miss Aubrey. This will be happening every Tuesday afternoon for the rest of the year.

Happy Holidays!!!

Holidays are finally here! Enjoy your sleep ins - I know I will be!! Have a wonderfully fun and safe break and I'll see you all again in two weeks! Don't forget to log into Studyladder and have a go at a few of the NAPLAN tasks to get ready for testing next term. NAPLAN tests take place 13 - 15 May. Time to put my feet up with a cup of tea now. ANZAC Ceremony

On the last day of term Wattle Grove Primary School celebrated ANZAC Day with a fabulous assembly. Each class made red poppy badges and wore them for the ceremony. Students in Room 23 have been learning about why we celebrate ANZAC Day and did a beautiful job of showing respect for the many soldiers that have protected our country.

Class Narrative Writing

In Room 23 this term we have been looking at two different types of text. One of these is narratives. We wrote a class narrative together. Miss Calvert wrote the first sentence then different students added sentences until we had a completed narrative. We then colour coded the different parts of the narrative - blue for the orientation, red for the complication and green for the resolution! This was a really fun activity!!

Wacky Wackadoo Zoo!!!

WOW!! What a wonderfully wacky performance from the Year 2 and 3 students!! I was so proud of my meowing cows - they did a sensational job!! Asher performed beautifully as one of the narrators and all the other animals and the Professor were fantastic too! Huge well done to Mrs Mullen for all the hard work she did to organise the performance and Miss Randall who helped students make their masks.

Garden Update

Well most of our seedlings and seeds have not done well in the heat however our sunflowers have been doing some amazing growing!! Kaylee and Asher chose the smallest and the tallest plants. Every Monday they have been measuring these same plants to track their progress. We will be using these measurements in a maths lesson soon ...
